"To me the project was about getting different individuals to express their views and relationships on our current natural world, which can inspire many others all over the world to think and care for our planet."
"What I loved about this project was that age was not a border, so all types of people [could] share their story which can have a huge impact. This project definitely opened my mind to nature and its culture and beauty."
"Personally, I loved it and found it as a really enriching experience that helped me really connect with nature."
"During this 5 week course I learnt that a border is more than the line between two places. A border can be anything. Even we set up borders when we decide who our friends are."
"I have enjoyed my experience here learning about borders and natural borders. I liked drawing about me to explore my identity. This experience helped me connect with nature."

"[R]epresentation of language is all around us, even if we have to look at things a bit more closely. When we do see them, and more importantly, embrace them, we are opening up so many new horizons, and worlds, that stretch far beyond borders.
"Overall, the Borderscapes project helped me to see the links between nature, culture and language in day-to-day life with people and what they do or think. [T]his made me try to communicate with my grandma more who doesn't speak English for more information about my culture and the presence of nature in her life in her home. I think the presence of languages can help people feel more represented because they are equipped with words that can help them with expression that can lead to much, much more like advocating for something they believe is worth fighting for, for example. This also, in my opinion, is reaffirming your identity, your origin."
"I have learned to be proud, optimistic and grateful for my home back in Kurdistan, and my language through my artefact, my poem. […] I identify as Kurdish, but that wasn't really what I used to say, as I didn't really enjoy talking about my home language as it felt, at the time, very personal, however because of the Borderscapes Project and their fantastic professors, I have never felt more confident in expressing my language, thoughts and background. I am forever grateful for their hard work and kindness that helped me, and many others around me to express and share their languages and cultural backgrounds."
"I liked getting the chance to show everyone my favourite tree"
